Synopsis
A young woman makes amends with someone from her past.
Our Review
Human desire largely centers on the need to understand things—especially oneself, which is inherently complex. Who we are and the emotions that define us are constantly evolving; what felt true at one time can seem completely different later.
The protagonist in One, a short film by Evalee Lowrey, carries the weight of years of unresolved emotions. The film explores how she confronts this burden. Through the realization of the time she's lost, yet with a newfound understanding of the time still available to her, she is able to forgive, make amends, and move forward.
With its beautiful direction, excellent screenplay, and a performance that truly deserves applause, One stands out as an outstanding short film.
