Out Review

"Delirium" by Alexandra Varkarotas is a vivid and surreal story that feels like stepping into a dream. The script stands out with its detailed and imaginative settings, but the storyline could be more focused. Alli’s journey is fascinating and full of surprises, though the symbolism can feel a bit overwhelming at times. The dialogue, while sparse, does a good job of keeping the story grounded amidst the chaos.

Writer Statement

This piece originally wasn't a piece at all. Just a title I thought I could use for a poem. Years later, I had a bizarre dream that I kept replaying until I woke up. I immediately wrote it all down, which became the first draft of this script. The dream was so bizarre, surreal, and well, just delirious! I revised my initial draft with the intention of being an artsy film jam-packed with colorful, thought-provoking images flowing out of an art student's subconscious. The days of being a sleep-deprived college student came in handy. All aboard the delirium train!
