Synopsis

Peter is a man without a defined identity, someone who can be anything or anyone at any given moment. This freedom, which allows him to reinvent himself constantly, also leaves him directionless, like a ship without a compass. The story follows his search for meaning in a world where desire seems to be driven by unfulfilled needs and socially accepted ideals, in contrast to a deeper "want" that comes from a conscious reflection on what one truly seeks in life.

Throughout his journey, Peter realizes that his desires and wants align with his ability to fulfill the desires of others. This revelation leads him to explore complex relationships and intimate encounters in an attempt to fill the emotional voids that have accompanied him since childhood. Repressed memories echo through his interactions, forcing him to confront the decisions he never made and the emotions he never expressed.

As he struggles between desire and guilt, Pedro finds himself in situations where unresolved tensions emerge, revealing his fragility and lack of direction. Yet, this very lack of a defined self allows him to adapt, flowing between others' expectations and his own needs. In a world where the unspoken weighs as heavily as actions, Pedro seeks not only redemption but also a deeper understanding of what it means to live authentically.

At its core, the story is a reflection on the nature of desire: a constant interplay between what we think we want due to our dissatisfactions and what we truly want when we can listen to our deepest needs. Ultimately, Pedro discovers that fulfilling the desires of others can be both a way to find his own compass and to shed the need to be someone he never chose to be.

Our Review

Favors" has the potential to be a captivating short film, particularly for those seeking a psychological drama with surreal undertones. Its abstract storytelling and evocative imagery could translate into a visually striking piece that leaves a lasting impression on viewers.
