Synopsis
Charlotte is rushed to the hospital with her husband, Lucas, as she goes into labor. As they navigate the hospital, Charlotte repeatedly sees a mysterious old man who appears increasingly distorted and sinister each time she encounters him. No one else can see him, so Lucas and the medical staff dismiss Charlotte’s fears as hallucinations caused by her pregnancy.
During the delivery, Charlotte's terror intensifies when the old man reveals his true, demonic form and reminds her of a pact she made as a child. As she gives birth to the first of her twins, Rumple claims the newborn, causing the baby to vanish from existence.
Our Review
Michaelle Lee's script Rumple has great potential for a short film, especially in the psychological horror genre. The contained setting and storyline of this script is perfect for the limited runtime of a short film. With strong direction and attention to visual and auditory storytelling, it could leave a lasting impact on viewers. The script may just require some minor edits for pacing and clarity. With some revision, it could become a highly compelling and chilling tale.
