Writer Statement

Being a teenager is a mixed bag. On the one hand it’s an exciting time, but on the other it’s fraught with angst. In fact, it’s mainly fraught with angst. I know, I’m only 18. I wanted to tell the story of most teenagers, irrespective of gender. We fear almost everything. But we have a voice and we can laugh at ourselves. 'The Witches of Pool Bottom' is my vision and hope for teens to get a sense of humour and not take ourselves, our image and our insecurities too seriously. Standing up to our innermost fears is the most enlightening thing we can do for our future. It’s mad, it’s whacky, it’s zany, it’s truthful. Amen.
